about dandelions. I kind of like them when they are in their flowering stage. They are happy little yellow flowers. They look sunny and springish all nestled into the grass.
I don't even mind them when they look like this. Kind of like a fuzzy puppy or a bad hair day. I always liked to blow them across the yard but my mom would get mad.
However, I cannot stand them when they look like this. They make me twitchy. My skin actually crawls when I drive past yards that have an abundance of these little critters. Kind of like I get all twitchy when I peel back the top of a pancake and look inside at all the little holes. It makes me shiver just to think about it. (and if you've never looked inside a pancake, don't. Otherwise, you'll never look at them the same way again.)
So, how about you? Do you like dandelions? Do you see them as beautiful flowers or ugly weeds? Or do you even see them at all? I want to know.

I don't really like dandelions in my yard, but I must admit I miss the days when my kids would bring me a handfull of them. Yesterday my daughter put a dandelion in her hair and she looked so sweet! So, I guess I do like them after all, just not too many!
Hate 'em! I used to love them as a kid, but now that I realize how they will completely take over your yard if a child blows on one within 10 miles of your home, I have wised up.
Of course, being that I have no yard now, just pavers and a small bedding place full of dead plants and dirt, perhaps I can afford to be a little more generous. Ok, they are pretty when they are yellow.
I can understand not wanting to look at oysters or clams while eating them...
but pancakes??
I am with you Karen--a love hate relationship. They definitely have their moment of beauty but...the grass withers, the flowers fade. I actually have a love-hate relationship with spring itself. So complicated with allergies, and yet the tug at my heart to spend the day outside. Maybe I need to look into Claritin. Never thought about pancakes being kind of yucky in that way. You make me smile. Love, Annette
I for one, love pancake innards. Not dandelions so much though.
